The EU–Western Balkans Summit will be held in Tivat on 4 and 5 June. According to the Municipality of Tivat, the coordination and organisation of this event require a series of recommendations and guidelines aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the town while fully respecting all security protocols.
Residents of Kotor who commute to Tivat on a daily basis, as well as those planning transfers through the affected areas, and residents of Tivat themselves, should expect temporary full traffic stoppages on the Adriatic Highway through Tivat, from the airport to the town centre, from 14:00 on 4 June until the late evening hours of 5 June.
Due to this traffic regime, increased congestion and slower vehicle movement can also be expected on alternative routes, particularly in the Kotor area and on roads leading to Tivat.
During the passage of summit delegations, the Adriatic Highway through Tivat will be completely closed to all traffic, including pedestrians. During these closures, police escorts will be provided only in emergency situations, primarily for urgent medical assistance cases.
Parking in Arsenal Street, Tivat, will be closed from 2 to 6 June, while traffic in Arsenal Street and Istria Street will be restricted from 08:00 on 4 June until 22:00 on 5 June.
Passengers travelling through Tivat Airport are advised to arrive significantly earlier than usual.
The Tivat Bus Station, in coordination with transport operators, will adapt intercity and international bus services to the event. Certain disruptions are expected on the Kotor–Tivat bus line, as well as on local and suburban bus services in Tivat, due to the inability to operate according to regular timetables during road closures.
Traffic on the Kamenari–Lepetani ferry line will be suspended in accordance with the road closures. From midnight on 3 June until 21:00 on 5 June, all arrivals and departures of vessels to and from Porto Montenegro Marina will be suspended, while maritime traffic will also be restricted in the wider waters surrounding the protected area.
The Porto Montenegro village will be closed to visitors on 4 and 5 June, with the exception of the Boka Place complex, which will remain open and accessible to the public.
Regarding commercial activities, operating hours within Porto Montenegro will be restricted. However, there will be no restrictions on business operations in Pine and the wider town centre of Tivat.
